One-Off Cleaning in Ilford (IG)
Sometimes the house just needs a proper clean. You might have family arriving, a sale coming up or a kitchen that’s got away from you. You might simply want to start again from clean before booking regular help. Our one-off cleaning in Ilford is a single visit built around the jobs you actually need doing, for homes and small premises across IG. There’s no contract and no ongoing commitment. Send us a few photos or give us a ring, and we’ll put together a free quote.

What a single visit clean usually covers
We agree the checklist before anyone arrives, so you’re paying for the jobs that matter in your home. A typical one-off visit is more thorough than a weekly tidy, but it isn’t automatically a full deep clean. We’ll tell you which one fits.
Kitchen
- Worktops cleaned, with small appliances moved so we can get behind them
- Hob degreased and the splashback wiped down, including grout lines behind the cooker
- Cupboard fronts, handles and the plinth along the floor, where grease and crumbs collect
- Microwave inside and out, oven door glass and the outside of the fridge
- Sink and taps descaled, and the plughole and overflow cleaned
- Bins wiped, and floors vacuumed and mopped, including the edges
Bathrooms and toilets
- Limescale treated on shower screens, taps, shower heads and tiles
- Bath, basin and toilet cleaned thoroughly, including the base and behind the pan
- Mirrors and chrome polished, and extractor fan covers dusted
- Mould spotting on sealant treated where it’s on the surface (more on this below)
Living rooms and bedrooms
- Dusting high and low: skirting boards, door frames, picture rails, light switches and sockets
- Sofas and beds vacuumed underneath where they can be moved safely
- Window sills, radiators and the tops of wardrobes
- Glass tables, mirrors and fingerprints on internal doors
- Carpets vacuumed and hard floors mopped
Spring cleaning and catch-up cleans
Spring cleaning in Ilford usually means going after the jobs that get skipped all year. That means the inside of kitchen cupboards, the dust on top of door frames, curtain tracks, the blinds and the area behind the washing machine. If that’s what you’re after, tell us, and we’ll build the list around it. For homes that need a top-to-bottom treatment, our deep cleaning service is the better fit.
Extras that need agreeing first
Some tasks take extra time, extra kit or a different method, so we price them separately rather than squeezing them into the visit:
- Oven interiors. A badly carbonised oven needs time and dedicated products. Our oven cleaning covers racks, trays and the inside of the door.
- Inside fridges, freezers and cupboards. These need emptying first. Empty cupboards before we arrive and we can wipe every shelf.
- Interior windows and frames. These can usually be added. External windows and high-level work above safe step-ladder height aren’t part of a standard visit.
- Carpet and upholstery extraction. This is a separate specialist job with its own drying time.
When cleaning isn’t the answer
Some problems won’t be fixed by cleaning, and we’d rather tell you upfront.
- Mould. Black mould that keeps coming back on walls or ceilings usually points to damp, condensation or a ventilation problem. We can clean surface mould, but it’ll return until the cause is dealt with.
- Damaged finishes. Etched marble, worn lacquer, scratched glass and burnt laminate are damage rather than dirt.
- Hazards. Suspected asbestos, needles, pest contamination and biohazards need a specialist contractor, not a domestic cleaner.
We’ll always do our best with marks and stains, but we can’t promise every one will lift.
How booking a one-off clean works
- Tell us about the job. Phone or email with the property size, the rooms you want cleaned, and the condition. Photos of the kitchen and bathroom help us quote accurately.
- We agree the checklist and the price. You’ll get a clear list of tasks and a price agreed upfront, with any extras itemised. Nothing gets added on the day without your say-so.
- We sort out access. Let us know if you’ll be home, whether keys need collecting, and any entry codes, parking arrangements or alarms.
- We clean. We bring our own supplies and equipment unless you’d like us to use yours.
- We check the work. Before leaving, we go back through the agreed list. If something in scope has been missed, get in touch promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how that works when you book.
What to prepare before we arrive
- Clear worktops, floors and surfaces of clutter so we’re cleaning rather than tidying
- Empty any cupboards, fridge or freezer you’ve asked us to clean inside
- Put away valuables, paperwork and anything fragile you’d rather we didn’t handle
- Tell us about natural stone, unsealed wood, specialist flooring or anything you’re unsure about
- Mention pets, allergies or products you’d prefer we used or avoided
- Make sure the boiler is on if we’re likely to need hot water
How long does a one-off clean take?
It depends on the size and condition of the property and how many tasks are on the list. A tidy one-bedroom flat with a light checklist is a very different job from a family house where the kitchen and bathroom haven’t had a proper going-over in months. We’ll give you an estimate when we quote. For larger homes, we may send more than one cleaner so the work fits into a day.
What changes the price of a one-off clean
The price for a one-off clean in Ilford comes down to a few things:
- Size. The number of bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces.
- Condition. Heavy grease, built-up limescale or a lot of pet hair takes longer.
- Task list. A light refresh costs less than a spring clean with cupboard interiors.
- Extras. Oven cleaning, interior windows, carpet work and similar add-ons.
- Access. Stairs to upper flats, permit-only parking or tight time windows.
You’ll find more on how we work out quotes on our pricing page. The quote is free and you’re under no obligation.
Working in your home: keys, pets and timing
Occupied homes. If you’re working from home, we’ll plan the order so your room is either done first or left until you’re finished.
Pets. Pets are fine, but it helps to keep them in one room or the garden while we’re mopping and using products. Let us know about cats who like to slip out of open doors.
Keys and access. We agree key handling in advance. Plenty of IG properties are flats above shops or conversions with shared entrances, so tell us about entry codes, intercoms and which bell to ring.
Parking. If your street is permit-controlled, a visitor permit or a note about where to park saves time on the day.
The best time to book
Book a week or two ahead of when you need the place looking its best. That gives you room to fix anything that turns up, like a dripping tap or a bit of lifting sealant. Before guests arrive, a clean two or three days out usually works well. If you’re selling, book before the photographer comes. Short-notice slots are sometimes possible, but they depend on availability.
Doing the job properly
- We check surfaces first. Marble and granite, oak worktops, high-gloss doors and brass fittings each need the right product. Where we’re not sure, we’ll test a small hidden patch first.
- We keep cloths separate. Bathroom and toilet cloths never go near kitchen surfaces. We colour-code them so it’s easy to keep them apart.
- We follow product instructions. That means using the right dilution and contact time, and never mixing chemicals, particularly bleach-based products with acidic descalers.
- We leave surfaces ready to use. Food-prep areas are rinsed after cleaning, and floors are left to dry with a clear walkway.
- Eco options. Eco-friendly products are available on request, and we’ll check they suit each surface.
Why people in Ilford book us for one-off jobs
The visit is planned before we turn up. You’ll know exactly which rooms and tasks are covered, what’s an extra and roughly how long it’ll take. Our cleaners are vetted and insured, and they work through an agreed checklist rather than guessing what you meant by “a good clean”. If you like the result, many customers move on to regular visits, but that’s entirely up to you.
One-off cleaning FAQs
Is a one-off clean the same as a deep clean?
Not always. A one-off clean is any single visit, and it can be as light or as thorough as you need. A deep clean is a fuller, top-to-bottom job with more detailed tasks. If you’d like to book a one-off deep clean, just say so and we’ll quote for that scope.
Can I use a one-off clean when I’m moving out?
Yes, but for a rental we’d usually recommend our end of tenancy cleaning. That service works to a room-by-room checklist based on your inventory or the agent’s requirements. Cleaning can’t fix wear and tear, and no cleaner can guarantee a deposit return.
Do I need to be home during the clean?
No. Plenty of customers leave keys or arrange access instead. We’ll agree the arrangements in advance and confirm how keys are returned.
Do you bring your own cleaning products?
Yes. We bring supplies and equipment as standard. If you have products you prefer, or surfaces that need something specific, tell us beforehand.
What do you need from me to give a quote?
Usually just the property size, the rooms and tasks you want, and a rough idea of the condition. Photos of the kitchen, bathroom and any problem areas make the quote far more accurate.
Can you clean my oven as part of a one-off visit?
We can, as an agreed extra. A full oven interior clean takes extra time, so we’ll price it separately and schedule enough time for it.
What if I’m not happy with something?
Contact us promptly and tell us what’s been missed from the agreed list. We’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm the reporting details when you book.
