Airbnb Cleaning in Ilford (IG)
Our Airbnb cleaning in Ilford is for hosts and co-hosts who have a guest checking out at 11 and another arriving at 3. In between, the flat has to look like the listing photos. We handle turnover cleaning for flats, houses and rooms across IG: we strip the beds, reset the kitchen and bathroom, restock the essentials and send you a short report, so you’re not doing it yourself between messages from guests.
Send us your property details and changeover pattern, and we’ll put together a checklist and a quote.
What we do on every turnover clean
A turnover has a different job from a household clean. Nobody lives there, so you’re not paying us to tidy someone’s routine. You’re paying us to remove every trace of the last guest. That’s what our checklist is built around.
Kitchen
- Wipe worktops, splashbacks, cupboard fronts and handles
- Clean the hob, microwave inside and out, and the kettle and toaster exteriors
- Empty and wipe the fridge of anything left behind
- Check that crockery, glasses and cutlery are clean and put away. We rewash anything that went back into the cupboard dirty
- Empty all bins, fit new liners and take rubbish to the bin store or collection point you tell us to use
- Clean the sink and taps, and polish the draining board
Bathrooms
- Clean the toilet thoroughly, including the base, the hinges and behind the seat
- Descale the shower screen, taps and showerhead where limescale is building up. Hard water is common across this part of London, and guests notice white marks in photos
- Clean the bath or shower tray, the tiles and the grout lines within reach
- Remove hair from plugholes and the floor
- Clean mirrors so they’re streak-free and put out fresh towels
Bedrooms and living areas
- Strip and remake the beds with fresh linen
- Vacuum carpets and rugs, and vacuum then mop hard floors
- Check under beds, behind sofa cushions and in drawers for anything left behind
- Dust surfaces, the TV stand, skirting boards within reach and light switches
- Straighten cushions, throws and blinds so the room matches your listing
The photo-ready finish
The last ten minutes of a turnover matter most. Towels folded the same way each time, the welcome guide in its usual spot, curtains open, lights checked, and the heating or windows set the way you’ve asked. If you send us your listing photos, we’ll use them as the reference for how each room should look when we leave.
Linen and restocking: how we handle it
We remake beds and lay out towels using linen you supply. The usual arrangement is two full sets per bed, stored at the property, so one set is on the bed while the other is being washed.
We agree how laundry works before the first clean. Some hosts have us run a wash and dry on site if there’s a machine and the drying time fits the changeover. Others use a laundry service and want the used linen bagged up for collection. Whichever you choose, we check every set before it goes on a bed. Anything with a stain, a tear or a musty smell gets set aside and reported. It doesn’t go on the bed.
For restocking, give us your list: toilet roll, hand soap, washing-up liquid, bin bags, tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets. We top up from the stock you keep at the property and tell you when anything is running low. That way you can reorder before you run out.
Same-day turnovers and tight changeovers
Most short let cleaning in Ilford happens in that late-morning to mid-afternoon gap, so it helps to book a regular slot linked to your calendar. Same-day turnovers are the norm for a well-booked listing, and we plan around them where we have the availability.
Short-notice requests, such as a booking made the night before or a guest checking out late, depend on what we’ve got free that day. We’ll always tell you straight away whether we can make it. Sharing your booking calendar or sending changeover dates as soon as they’re confirmed gives us the best chance of covering every turnover.
Keys, lockboxes and getting in
We agree access before the first visit, and we don’t improvise on the day. Common arrangements are:
- Key safe or lockbox: you give us the code and we return the key to the box after every visit
- Smart lock: a separate code for cleaners, so you can see when we arrive and leave
- Key held by us: stored securely, labelled with a reference number rather than your address
- Concierge or building management: common in purpose-built blocks, so let us know who to ask for and whether we need to be added to an access list
If your building has a fob for the main entrance, a separate bin store or a lift that needs booking, tell us. Plenty of flats near the town centre and station have communal doors with their own rules. Parking is another one: if the street is permit-only, let us know whether there’s a visitor permit or a bay we can use.
Owner checklists and reporting after each clean
You can’t be at every changeover, so we tell you what we found. After each turnover we can send:
- Photos of each room once it’s finished
- A note of any damage, breakages or missing items, with photos
- Low stock items that need ordering
- Anything that needs a repair, such as a dripping tap, a blown bulb or a sticking window
We agree the format with you at the start. Some hosts want a full photo set every time. Others only want to hear when something’s wrong. Either way, you’ll have a record to point to if you need to raise something with a guest or the platform.
Extras, deeper work and when cleaning isn’t the answer
A turnover clean keeps the place guest-ready. It won’t catch up on months of build-up in a single visit. These are quoted separately:
- Periodic deep cleans: behind appliances, inside cupboards, high-level dusting, grout scrubbing. Many hosts book a deep clean every few months or during a quiet week
- Oven interiors: baked-on grease needs time and specific products, so it’s a separate oven cleaning job
- Carpets and upholstery: spills from guests need proper extraction, not a quick dab. See our carpet cleaning service
- External windows and high-level work
Some problems need a tradesperson rather than a cleaner. Black mould that keeps coming back usually points to condensation or damp. We can clean the surface, but it’ll return until the cause is fixed. The same goes for damaged worktops, etched enamel and stained grout that’s failed. We’ll tell you honestly when cleaning won’t fix something, so you don’t keep paying for it.
How we set up your short let cleaning
- Tell us about the property. Number of bedrooms and bathrooms, how many guests it sleeps, your typical changeover pattern and any photos you can share.
- We agree a checklist. We build it room by room around your listing, linen setup and restocking list.
- You get a quote. We agree the price upfront, plus any extras such as laundry or periodic deep cleans.
- We sort out access. Codes, keys, building rules, parking and bin arrangements are confirmed before the first visit.
- We clean and check. We finish each turnover by checking against the agreed list, then send your report.
If something in scope has been missed, tell us promptly with a photo and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how re-cleans work and the reporting window when you book.
What changes the price
Turnover pricing depends on:
- The number of bedrooms, bathrooms and beds to make
- How the last guests left it. A single night for two is different from a week for a family
- Whether laundry is done on site, bagged for collection or not needed
- How much restocking and reporting you want
- How often we clean, and how tight the changeover window is
- Access, parking and whether there’s a lift or a long walk to the bin store
Our pricing page explains how we work out quotes. For a figure for your property, request a quote with a few details.
Doing it properly between guests
- Separate cloths for toilets, bathrooms and kitchens. They’re colour-coded and never swapped, so nothing from the toilet ends up near a chopping board.
- Products left on for their proper contact time. A disinfectant sprayed and wiped straight off doesn’t do its job, so we follow the instructions on the label.
- We check the material before we use anything. Marble, natural stone and some worktop finishes are damaged by acidic descalers. Tell us what’s in the property, and we’ll test a small hidden patch first if we’re unsure.
- Food areas are rinsed after cleaning, so surfaces are safe for the next guest to use.
- Floors are left dry before we lock up. That avoids slips and footprints if a guest checks in early.
Eco-friendly products are available on request if your listing advertises them or guests ask. We’ll check each one suits your surfaces first.
Airbnb cleaning FAQs
Do you bring your own cleaning supplies? Yes. We bring cleaning products and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise. Guest consumables like toilet roll, soap and coffee come from your stock at the property.
Can you wash and dry linen at the property? Usually, if there’s a washing machine and enough time to dry it before the next arrival. In a short changeover, two sets per bed and an off-site laundry service tend to work better.
Can you clean the same day a guest checks out? Yes, that’s how most turnovers work. Late bookings and short-notice changes depend on availability on the day, so send your dates as early as you can.
What happens if a guest leaves the place in a bad state? We’ll photograph it and tell you before we carry on. If it needs much more than the agreed turnover, we’ll agree the extra time with you so you can pass it on through the platform if you want to.
Do you cover short lets outside the town centre? Yes. We cover homes and flats across Ilford and the wider IG area. Send us the postcode and we’ll confirm.
Can you work from my existing checklist? Yes, we’re happy to start with yours. We’ll go through it with you and suggest anything that’s commonly missed, like the tops of door frames or the cupboard under the sink.
