They include quotes, products, access and keys, preparation, payments, and what happens if something’s been missed. They apply to homes and businesses across Ilford and the wider IG area. If your question isn’t here, call us on 020 4652 5129 and we’ll talk it through.

Booking and quotes

How do I get a quote?

Send us the basics and we’ll come back with a free, no-obligation quote. Include:

  • Property type and size, such as a one-bed flat or a three-bed house with two bathrooms
  • The rooms or areas you want cleaned, and any priorities
  • The current condition, honestly described
  • How often you’d like us: once, weekly, fortnightly or monthly
  • Preferred dates and any access details

For one-off jobs, a few photos of the kitchen, bathroom and any problem spots save a lot of back and forth. You can use our online quote form, email info@cleaning-ilford.co.uk or ring us. Commercial premises, such as a shop on the High Road or an office near Ilford station, may need a short walkthrough before we can price the work properly.

Is the price agreed before you start?

Yes. We agree the scope, the price and any extras before work starts. The price is based on property size, condition, tasks, frequency and access.

If we find something on the day that wasn’t in the brief, we’ll talk to you before doing it. That might be an extra room, or an oven that needs a proper strip-down rather than a wipe. You won’t find surprise work on your bill.

Which areas do you cover, and how soon can you come?

We cover Ilford and the wider IG area. That includes the town centre, Seven Kings, Goodmayes, Gants Hill, Newbury Park, Barkingside and Clayhall. Give us your postcode when you enquire and we’ll confirm.

How soon we can come depends on the job and our diary. Short-notice slots do come up, especially for smaller one-off cleans, but we can’t guarantee same-day visits. If you’re working to a fixed check-out date or a handover, book as soon as you know the date.

Products and equipment

Do your cleaners bring their own supplies?

Yes. We bring cleaning products and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise. That covers cloths, sprays, descaler, mops, buckets and a vacuum.

Some customers prefer us to use their own products or their own vacuum, perhaps because it suits their floors or a family member reacts to certain scents. That’s fine. Just tell us when you book.

Before the visit, let us know about any delicate surfaces. Examples include:

  • Marble, granite or quartz worktops
  • Unsealed or oiled wood
  • High-gloss kitchen doors that scratch easily
  • Antique furniture or specialist finishes

Some surfaces need specific products. For example, acidic limescale removers can etch natural stone, so we’d rather know before we start.

Can you use eco-friendly products?

Yes, on request. Our eco cleaning options use gentler products where they’ll do the job. We check each one suits the surface it’s going on.

Heavy limescale on a shower screen or a greasy extractor hood can need something stronger. If that’s the case, we’ll tell you and agree the approach with you first. Also mention any allergies or sensitivities when you book, so we can plan products around them.

Access, keys and pets

Do I need to be home, and how are keys handled?

No. Plenty of our customers are at work while we clean. We agree access, key handling and arrival arrangements in advance. The usual options are:

  • You let us in and head off
  • A key safe, with the code shared privately
  • A key left with a neighbour, concierge or building manager
  • Keys held between regular visits, if we’ve agreed that with you

For flats, tell us the entry codes, which entrance to use and whether there’s a lift. Parking is restricted on many streets around Ilford, so let us know about visitor permits or the best place to stop. That way we don’t lose cleaning time hunting for a bay.

Is it okay if I have pets?

Yes. Tell us about them before the first visit. We’ll need to know where they’ll be, which doors must stay shut and whether any rooms are off limits.

Pet hair on sofas, stair carpets and skirting boards adds time. Mention it at the quote stage so it’s built into the plan.

Preparing for your clean

How do I prepare for a deep clean?

A bit of preparation means more of the visit goes on cleaning. Before a deep clean:

  1. Clear worktops and surfaces so we can clean them properly, not just around clutter.
  2. Empty the cupboards you want cleaned inside. We can’t do the insides of kitchen units that are full of tins and pans.
  3. Defrost the freezer the day before if the fridge-freezer is in scope.
  4. Pick things up off the floor, especially under beds and around desks.
  5. Put away valuables, paperwork and anything fragile.
  6. Check hot water and electricity are on, which matters for empty properties.
  7. Point out problem areas, like the grout behind the bath or the mould on the bedroom window seals.

Oven interiors, carpet extraction and high-level work are usually quoted separately. Mention them when you ask for your quote.

How long does a regular clean take, and what’s included?

It depends on the size of the home, its condition and what’s on your priorities list. A tidy one-bed flat takes far less time than a four-bed family house with two bathrooms and a dog. We’ll give you a realistic idea when we quote.

The first visit often takes longer while we get on top of built-up grime. Regular visits follow an agreed priorities list. That typically includes:

  • Kitchen worktops, hob, sink and appliance fronts
  • Bathrooms
  • Dusting
  • Vacuuming and mopping

Some tasks aren’t automatically included in a routine visit. These are oven interiors, carpet extraction, high-level work and external windows. We can add them as separately quoted extras.

A quick tidy before we arrive helps a lot: clothes off the floor, toys in a box, dishes in the sink. We clean surfaces; we don’t sort personal belongings.

Can you guarantee I’ll get my deposit back?

No, and no cleaner honestly can. For end-of-tenancy cleaning, we work to an agreed room-by-room checklist based on the inventory or your agent’s cleaning requirements. Send us those documents when you enquire.

Cleaning can’t repair wear or damage. A worn carpet, a chipped worktop or a burn mark on a laminate floor will still be there after we’ve finished. What we can do is make sure everything in the agreed checklist has been done properly.

Changes, payments and receipts

What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Tell us as soon as you know your plans have changed. The notice period and any late-cancellation charges are confirmed when you book, so check them before you commit.

We’ll always try to move your visit to another slot. Rescheduling depends on availability, especially around busy end-of-month tenancy dates.

How do I pay, and can I get a receipt?

Payment terms and accepted methods are confirmed when we agree your quote, so you’ll know before the visit. We can provide a receipt or invoice.

Landlords, agents and businesses often need invoices for their records. Tell us which details should appear on yours, such as a company name or the property address.

If something isn’t right

What if I’m not satisfied with the clean?

We finish every job with a check against the agreed tasks. If something within the agreed scope has been missed, contact us promptly and send photos if you can. We’ll arrange to put it right.

Re-clean eligibility and the reporting window are confirmed when you book, so you’ll know where you stand. If the issue is something outside the original scope, we’ll explain why and quote for it if you’d like it done.

What happens if something gets damaged?

Our cleaners are vetted and insured. Accidents are rare, but if something gets damaged, tell us straight away. Send photos and a short description and we’ll deal with it properly.

The best way to avoid problems is to flag delicate items and surfaces before the visit. That way we can take care around them or leave them alone.

Still have a question?

Ring us on 020 4652 5129 or email info@cleaning-ilford.co.uk. Tell us what you need, where you are in Ilford or the IG area, and when you’d like us to come. We’ll come back with a clear scope and a price agreed upfront, with no obligation to book.
