About our cleaning company in Ilford – vetted local team

About Our Cleaning Company in Ilford

Cleaning Ilford is a local cleaning company looking after family homes, rented flats, shops and offices across Ilford and the wider IG area. This page covers how we work: who comes to your door, what they’re briefed on, which products we bring, how we keep people and surfaces safe, and how we check the job before we leave.

We’d rather you knew all of this before you book than find out halfway through a visit. If anything here raises a question about your own property, call us on 020 4652 5129 and we’ll talk it through.

Who we clean for in Ilford and the IG area

Most of our work comes from a handful of everyday situations:

  • Busy households in the Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Seven Kings, Goodmayes and Valentines, where a weekly or fortnightly visit keeps the kitchen, bathroom and floors under control.
  • Tenants and landlords in town-centre flats and conversions, getting a property ready for an inventory check at the end of a tenancy or before new tenants move in.
  • Homeowners after building work in Gants Hill, Newbury Park, Barkingside and Clayhall, where loft conversions and kitchen refits leave fine dust on every ledge and inside every cupboard.
  • Shops, offices and small businesses along the High Road, Cranbrook Road and Ilford Lane, which need cleaning fitted around opening hours.

We also cover the rest of IG, including Hainault, Woodford Green, Chigwell and Barking. Send us your postcode and we’ll confirm whether we can reach you on the days you need. You can see everything we offer on our cleaning services page.

How we decide what gets cleaned on your visit

Every job starts with an agreed list of priorities. We don’t promise to clean everything in the house on every visit, because that’s how jobs get rushed and the important things get skipped.

For a regular clean, the list usually covers kitchen worktops and the hob front, sinks and taps, bathrooms and toilets, dusting reachable surfaces, vacuuming and mopping floors, and emptying bins. You tell us what matters most. Maybe it’s the bathroom your teenagers use or the hallway floor the dog treks mud across. We put those first.

Some tasks take longer or need different equipment, so we quote them separately:

  • Oven interiors and extractor filters
  • Carpet and upholstery extraction
  • High-level work, such as tops of tall wardrobes or light fittings that need steps
  • External windows
  • Inside the fridge, freezer and kitchen cupboards (these need emptying first)

For end-of-tenancy cleans we work to a room-by-room checklist based on your inventory or your letting agent’s cleaning requirements. Cleaning can lift a lot, but it can’t repair worn carpet, chipped worktops or scuffed paintwork. No cleaner can honestly guarantee a deposit return or an inventory pass, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

How we vet and brief our cleaners

Everyone who cleans for us is vetted and insured before they’re sent to a customer’s property. Vetting is about trust, but a good clean also depends on how well the cleaner has been briefed. That covers:

  • Reading the job sheet properly. That means knowing which rooms are priorities, which are off limits, and what’s been agreed as an extra.
  • Testing before treating. A new product goes on a hidden patch first, especially on painted woodwork, natural stone and older enamel baths.
  • Measuring products. More product doesn’t mean cleaner. It leaves a sticky film on floors and streaks on glass.
  • Handling keys and access carefully. That includes alarm codes, key safes and concierge arrangements in managed blocks.
  • Reporting, not hiding. If something’s already damaged, or a cleaner isn’t sure a surface can take a product, they stop and tell us.

We don’t list badges or certificates on this page that we can’t show you. If you need details of our insurance for a landlord, agent or building manager, see our insurance and vetting page and we’ll send what’s relevant.

Equipment and products we bring

We bring cleaning supplies and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise. If you’d prefer us to use your own vacuum or a particular product you like, just say so when you book.

Here’s what our kit typically includes:

  • Colour-coded microfibre cloths. The cloth used on a toilet never goes near a kitchen worktop.
  • Vacuums with attachments for edges and upholstery. These reach under beds and along skirting boards where dust collects.
  • Limescale products for bathrooms and taps. East London’s hard water leaves white crust on shower screens, tap bases and around plugholes. It comes off far more easily on a regular visit than after months of build-up.
  • Degreasers for kitchens. These deal with the sticky layer on cooker hoods and the tops of wall cupboards.
  • Separate mops for kitchens and bathrooms.

Tell us about anything delicate before the visit. Marble and limestone can be etched by acidic descalers. Oiled oak worktops don’t want harsh degreaser. Some vintage tiles and unsealed floors need gentler treatment. We’d also like to know about pets, allergies, and anyone in the house who reacts to fragrance, so we can choose products to suit.

Our environmental approach to cleaning

We offer eco-friendly product options on request, and we check each one is suitable for the surface it’s going on. Plant-based products work well for routine dusting, glass and general surfaces. A baked-on oven or a kitchen full of builders’ residue may need something stronger, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case rather than leave you with a half-finished job.

Beyond the bottle, a lot of sustainable practice is simple habit:

  • Measured dilution, so products aren’t wasted or left as residue
  • Reusable microfibre cloths instead of rolls of paper towel
  • Using the right tool first, such as a damp cloth or a scraper, before reaching for a chemical

If you’d like your whole clean done with eco products, have a look at our eco cleaning service.

Health and safety on every job

Safe cleaning protects you, your family, your staff and our cleaners. The basics we follow on every visit:

  • Products stay clearly labelled and are never mixed. Bleach and acid-based descalers together give off harmful fumes, so they’re never used on the same surface in one go.
  • Rooms get ventilated when we’re using stronger products, particularly in small bathrooms without windows.
  • Products are kept out of reach of children and pets while we work, and nothing is left behind on a low shelf.
  • Wet floor signs go out in shops, offices and communal entrances, so customers and residents don’t slip on a freshly mopped floor.
  • Water stays away from electrics. We take care around sockets, switches and appliances.
  • High-level work is agreed in advance. We don’t climb on furniture to reach a light fitting. If the job needs steps or access equipment, it’s part of the agreed scope.

For commercial premises we’ll ask about your own site rules, fire exits, alarm procedures and lone working before the first visit.

How we check the work before we leave

We finish every visit with a check against the agreed tasks. That means going back through the list: taps polished, bins emptied, floors done right into the corners, bathroom mirror free of smears.

If you get home and spot something in the agreed scope that’s been missed, contact us promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm re-clean eligibility and how soon you need to report anything when you book, so there’s no confusion later.

Feedback helps us improve. If a cleaner did something you particularly liked, or something you’d rather they did differently, tell us. It goes straight into the job notes for your next visit.

What we promise, and what we won’t

Our service promises are short and practical:

  • We’ll agree the scope and price upfront, before any work starts
  • We’ll arrive when we’ve agreed, with access and key handling sorted in advance
  • We’ll treat your home or workplace with care and tell you honestly about anything we notice
  • We’ll put right anything in the agreed scope that we’ve missed, if you let us know promptly

What we won’t do is overpromise. We won’t guarantee every stain will come out, claim a home will be sterile or allergen-free, or promise same-day availability we can’t be sure of. Short-notice slots depend on availability, and we’ll be straight with you about what’s possible.

Talk to us about your property

The quickest way to find out if we’re the right fit is to tell us about the job. Let us know the property size, the rooms or tasks you’d like covered, its current condition, your preferred dates and how we’ll get in. Photos really help with one-off and end-of-tenancy work. For commercial premises, we may suggest a short walkthrough first.

Quotes are free and there’s no obligation.

Or send us the details through our free quote form and we’ll come back to you with an agreed scope and price.
