How Our Cleaning Service Process Works in Ilford
Our cleaning service process in Ilford is simple: you tell us about the property and the job, we agree the scope and price before anything starts, our cleaner works through that agreed list, and we check the finished work against it. No surprises on the day, and no paying for tasks you didn’t need.
This page walks through each stage, from first enquiry to aftercare, so you know what happens and when. It works the same way for a terraced house in Seven Kings, a flat above the shops on the High Road or an office near Ilford station.
Step 1: Tell Us What Needs Cleaning
The more we know at the start, the more accurate your quote will be. A two-line message gets a rough idea. A few details and photos get a proper answer.
Here’s what helps us most:
- Property type and size. Number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and whether it’s a house, flat, office or shop.
- The kind of clean. Routine upkeep, a one-off deep clean, an end-of-tenancy clean, after-builders dust or regular commercial cleaning.
- Current condition. Has it been cleaned recently, or has it been a few months? Be honest. A greasy hob that’s had six months of family cooking takes longer than one wiped weekly, and we’d rather plan for it than run short of time.
- Specific problem areas. Limescale on a shower screen, a grease-coated extractor hood, pet hair in the carpets, fingerprints all over the glass on a communal front door.
- Preferred dates and times. Plus any deadlines, such as a check-out inspection or a shop opening time.
- Photos. For one-off and end-of-tenancy jobs, a handful of phone photos of the kitchen, bathroom and worst room saves a lot of back and forth.

Step 2: We Agree the Scope and Price Before Work Starts
Your quote is free and comes with no obligation. We base it on the property size, its condition, the tasks you’ve asked for, how often you’d like us and any access arrangements. If you’d like to understand what moves the figure up or down, our pricing page explains it in more detail.
The price is agreed upfront, along with exactly what’s included. That matters because “a clean” means different things to different people. A routine visit covers your agreed priorities, such as kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, floors and dusting. It doesn’t automatically include:
- Oven interiors
- Carpet extraction cleaning
- High-level work such as tops of tall wardrobes or high light fittings
- External windows
- Inside fridges and kitchen cupboards
Any of these can be added. We just quote them separately so you’re only paying for what you want done.
Commercial premises and larger jobs
For offices, shops, gyms and similar spaces in Ilford and across the IG area, we may suggest a walkthrough before quoting. Seeing the floor types, the number of desks, kitchen and washroom facilities and bin points tells us far more than a floor plan. It also lets us talk about timing: early mornings before a shop opens, evenings after an office empties, or weekends.
End-of-tenancy cleans
Send us your inventory or the agent’s cleaning requirements if you have them. We’ll build a room-by-room checklist from that document so the clean focuses on what the check-out clerk is likely to look at: inside the oven, behind the fridge if it can be moved, limescale on taps, skirting boards and window tracks. Cleaning can’t repair wear, worn carpet or damage, and no cleaner can guarantee a deposit return. What we can do is work methodically to a checklist that matches the paperwork. Our cleaning checklist shows the kind of tasks we cover.
Step 3: Booking and Confirmation
Once you’re happy with the quote, we’ll confirm the booking in writing with:
- The date and arrival window
- The agreed task list
- The agreed price and any extras
- Access and key arrangements
- Anything we need from you beforehand
Short-notice bookings depend on availability. If you’re up against a deadline, tell us early and we’ll do our best to fit you in, but we won’t promise a slot we can’t keep.
Step 4: Sorting Access, Parking and Keys
Access is the thing most likely to delay a clean, so we agree it in advance rather than on the doorstep.
Being home or not. Plenty of customers aren’t in. That’s fine. We’ll agree how the cleaner gets in, whether that’s meeting you, collecting a key, using a key safe or arranging access with a letting agent or building manager.
Flats and managed blocks. Many newer developments around Ilford town centre need a fob, a concierge sign-in or a call to the building manager. Let us know who to contact and whether there are lift or loading restrictions.
Parking. A lot of Ilford streets fall within controlled parking zones, and our cleaners often carry equipment. If you can provide a visitor permit or tell us where the nearest legal parking is, it saves time on the day. For carpet or after-builders work with heavier kit, this matters even more.
Alarms. If there’s an alarm, give us the code and setting instructions ahead of time, not in a text five minutes before arrival.
Step 5: Special Requests, Pets and Delicate Surfaces
Tell us before the visit, not during it. That’s how we handle special requests properly, because it lets us bring the right products and plan the time.
Things worth mentioning:
- Delicate materials. Natural stone worktops, unsealed wooden floors, high-gloss kitchen doors and antique furniture all need specific products. Marble and limescale remover, for example, don’t mix.
- Allergies and sensitivities. If anyone in the house reacts to certain fragrances or chemicals, we’ll plan around it.
- Preferred products. If you’d like us to use your own products, just say. Eco-friendly product options are available on request, and we’ll check they’re suitable for each surface.
- Pets. Let us know about dogs, cats or anything in a tank or cage. Some customers keep pets in one room during the clean; others are happy for them to roam. Either works if we know in advance.
- Rooms to skip. A home office with papers everywhere, a child’s bedroom or a room with valuables. Just tell us.
We bring our own cleaning supplies and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise.
Step 6: What to Expect on Cleaning Day
Our cleaners are vetted and insured. They arrive within the agreed window with the equipment and products for the job, and work through the task list you’ve signed off.
A little preparation makes the time go further:
- Clear surfaces where you can. We’ll clean around everyday items, but a worktop covered in post and chargers takes longer than a clear one.
- Empty cupboards if they’re in scope. Inside-cupboard cleaning needs them empty. Same for the fridge.
- Plan around carpet drying. If carpet cleaning is included, carpets can take several hours to dry depending on the fibre, ventilation and weather. Avoid booking it the morning of a party or a removal van.
- After building work. Fine plaster and sanding dust settles for days and gets into skirting tops, sockets and window runners. It needs more than a vacuum, and one pass may not catch dust that’s still settling. We’ll talk about timing before booking.
For commercial cleaning, we work around your opening hours where we can and keep disruption to a minimum. Crumbs under desks and smudged entrance glass get dealt with when customers and staff aren’t in the way.
Step 7: Quality Checks Before We Leave
Before finishing, the cleaner checks the work against the agreed task list. That means the specific items you asked for: the shower screen, the hob, the skirting boards in the hallway, the inside of the oven if it was included.
If you’re at home, it’s a good moment to walk round together. If you’re not, we’ll let you know the job is complete and how the property has been left, including where the keys are.
Aftercare, Follow-Up and Re-Clean Requests
If something that was in the agreed scope has been missed, contact us promptly. The sooner you tell us, the easier it is to check and arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm re-clean eligibility and the reporting window when you book, so you know where you stand before the clean, not after.
A couple of things help us respond quickly:
- Tell us which room and which task.
- Send a photo if you can.
- For end-of-tenancy work, forward any check-out report notes relating to cleaning.
We can only re-clean items that were part of the agreed list, which is one more reason the scope conversation at the start matters.
Feedback and regular visits
For regular cleaning, your feedback shapes the next visit. If you’d like the bathroom given more time and the spare room less, tell us and we’ll adjust the priorities list. Your home changes over time and the cleaning should too. If you need to reschedule, let us know as early as possible so we can find another slot.
